Project on general development of motive urban centers – Thai Nguyen city

On June 1, 2018, the World Bank approved an 80 million USD credit from the International Development Association (IDA) to improve the quality of important urban infrastructure works. , including transport connections, drainage and wastewater collection systems, public spaces and preschool systems in Thai Nguyen City.

The credit will also help improve urban planning and management taking into account climate change and disaster risk.

According to the World Bank, this integrated urban development project will benefit more than 81,000 residents of Thai Nguyen City, including reducing travel time by increasing the quality of transport connections and improving conditions. urban sanitation through improved drainage and wastewater collection, especially in flood prone areas.

The project will also improve child care services through newly built and renovated kindergartens and provide a better quality of life with improved public spaces.

In addition, the project will help improve the capacity of Thai Nguyen city government with technical assistance on integrated urban planning strategy, public transport planning and sustainable asset management.

The project is implemented over 5 years, from June 2018 to December 2023 with an estimated cost of US $ 100 million, of which US $ 80 million will be financed by IDA funding to support the transition period and US $ 20 million from the reciprocal capital of the provincial government.
